Facebook, Instagram down globally, users complain of being logged out

Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, faced significant server issues, resulting in widespread outages across its platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Threads. Users worldwide reported difficulties in accessing these services, with Down detector recording over 300,000 Facebook outages and more than 47,000 outage reports for Instagram.

Meta spokesperson Andy Stone acknowledged the problem, stating that they were actively working to resolve it. Later, Stone confirmed that the issue had been fixed and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

The outages affected users around 8:56 pm, with issues reported in loading content, logging in, and uploading content. Netblocks, a London-based internet monitoring firm, also reported outages in multiple countries for Meta’s platforms.

Additionally, WhatsApp, another Meta-owned platform, experienced disruptions, with its Business API facing issues. Downdetector received approximately 200 reports of WhatsApp outages.

The outage quickly became a trending topic on social media, with users speculating about cyberattacks and discussing Mark Zuckerberg’s involvement. “Cyberattack,” “Mark Zuckerberg,” and “Instagram Facebook Down” emerged as top-ranking trends.
